Kurt Angle Believes Edge Will Not Sign With AEW, Claims He Is WWE Loyal

WWE Hall of Famer Edge

Kurt Angle doesn’t see Edge making the jump to AEW.

In recent weeks, speculation on Edge’s future has been rife. On August 18th, the Rated-R Superstar defeated Sheamus in Toronto to mark his 25th anniversary in WWE. In the days leading up to the match, he revealed that the bout was the last on his contract, sparking rumours that he could leave the company once the deal expired.

With his longtime friend and tag partner Christian Cage already in AEW, many believe that could be Edge’s next destination. However, Kurt Angle doesn’t think it’s a real possibility.

Speaking on the latest edition of The Kurt Angle Show, the Hall of Famer explained that he thinks the nine-time World Champion is too loyal to WWE to make the move.

“I think Edge is loyal to WWE. He’s been loyal since day one. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of other wrestlers have crossed over, especially his best friend and kind of brother, Christian, but I just don’t see Edge doing that. I really believe he’s going to be WWE for life.”

Recently Kurt Angle praised Adam Copleand’s move to AEW.

Will Edge appear at AEW WrestleDream?

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Edge’s contract officially expired on September 30th, this means he is now a free agent and could appear at AEW WrestleDream on October 1st if he chose to.

Meltzer noted that there are people in WWE who believe that’s where the Hall of Famer is headed, and he believes if it happens it would be to get involved in Christian’s match.

“Everyone will go crazy. It is weird [as Christian is a heel], but if that’s the deal, or he could cost Christian the title, come in as a babyface to feud with Christian. If there’s something that’s going to get him back, I mean, it’s obviously working with Christian. I don’t know if he’s going there or not. I just know that people in WWE, at least just a few weeks ago, believed that he was going there.”
