Latest On Sammy Guevara’s Injury Status

Sammy Guevara is not guaranteed to appear on the next episode of AEW Dynamite.

Guevara has not been in action since WrestleDream where he teamed with Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita to defeat Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi.

Following Callis announcing that Sammy Guevara was not medically cleared to compete on the following episode of Dynamite, it was later reported that the former TNT Champion had suffered a concussion at the pay-per-view.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Guevara is looking to make a return on the October 18th episode of Dynamite which takes place in his hometown of Houston, Texas. However, as Guevara suffered a concussion, there will understandably be no unnecessary risks taken:

Sammy Guevara. You know, just throwing that in. I know he wants to be ready on Wednesday. I don’t know if it will happen. But he had a setback. But overall, he was doing well coming back from the you know, recovering from the concussion at the last pay-per-view. And I mean, he should be back relatively soon. At least, that’s the hope. But you know, because the Wednesday show, this coming Wednesday, is right outside of Houston and that’s where he’s from. So he really wanted to be on the show.

But I don’t know that he’s going to be on the show. And if he’s not on the show until, you know, I mean, either way, you know, it’s like he’s not on the show, you know, he’s not cleared if he’s on the show, then obviously he’s cleared. And with concussions, you know, you don’t know, but he’s gunning for it. But I don’t know what the odds are that that’s going to happen.

Sammy Guevara Hopes To Reunite With Don Callis Family

The Spanish God has aligned himself with Don Callis after feeling underappreciated by his previous mentor Chris Jericho. With Guevara unable to compete on the October 4th episode, Don Callis revealed who was the latest addition to his family.
