Sammy Guevara Not Medically Cleared Following AEW WrestleDream

Sammy Guevara poses at AEW WrestleDream

Sammy Guevara is out of action.

On the October 4th episode of Dynamite, Guevara was scheduled to team up with Konosuke Takeshita to take on Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. However, Don Callis said the star wasn’t medically cleared to compete and instead he was replaced by Aussie Open’s Kyle Fletcher.

Although Omega and Jericho got the win on the night, things didn’t quite work out as planned. After the match, the newest member of the Don Calls Family, Powerhouse Hobbs, marched to the ring, took out Omega, and then helped Takeshita tape him to the ring ropes. He geared up as if he was going to nail Omega with a chair, but Callis himself took over, delivering the shot to the head.

In recent news, Sammy Guevara has provided an update on his AEW future.

Sammy Guevara Suffered A Concussion

On Dynamite no details were given about the injury suffered by Guevara, but more information has since come to light. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Guevara suffered a concussion during his match at WrestleDream.

At the pay-per-view in Seattle, Guevara teamed with Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita against Jericho, Omega, and Kota Ibushi.

“Sammy got a concussion on the pay-per-view. So he’s out until, you know it’s a concussion story. Could be next week, but who knows? But yeah, he’s out.”
