“It’s Very Possible”: Drew McIntyre Weighs In On UK WrestleMania

Drew McIntyre Comments On Possibility Of A UK WrestleMania

Drew McIntyre sees no reason why the UK can’t host a WrestleMania in the near future.

In September 2022 WWE presented Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales. This was the first time that a major show had taken place in the United Kingdom since the Insurrextion pay-per-view back in 2003. With Clash at the Castle being successful financially and having one of the best crowds of the year, WWE returned once again in July 2023 with Money in the Bank in London.

Midway through the show, fans would be treated to a surprise appearance by John Cena, who publicly stated that he wants to see the biggest show of the year come to London. The response was a resounding yes from the live crowd, going as far as the British parliament even addressing the possibility of a UK WrestleMania.

While speaking with Good Karma Wrestling, McIntyre addressed how the company has progressed over the years and how WWE is now holding multiple major international events each year:

“Looking at the way the business has evolved and our business model now, and how many international shows we do, and how successful they are for the company, and the time difference isn’t that bad for the UK. I heard that for years, and I complained and I complained and I complained, and then finally we got Clash at the Castle [in 2022]. I was like ‘We’re doing a show in Australia, have you seen the time difference there? Don’t be silly, we can do a show in the UK.’

Addressing the possibility of a UK Mania, The Scottish Warrior believes that it would be worthwhile for fans and the company:

Now, the idea of a Mania is very much possible. I know how successful it would be for the company, but I know how amazing it would be for the fans [as well]. I know how much fun it would be for everyone around the world to watch, because we know how crazy and fun and wild the UK fans are.”

If a UK WrestleMania were to happen it would be the first time that The Show of Shows would emanate from outside of North America. All Manias have taken place in the United States except for 2, which were WrestleMania 6 and 18, which were both hosted in Canada.

Drew McIntyre Aims To Be A World Champion Once Again

McIntyre headlined Clash at the Castle by challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Unfortunately for anyone expecting a hometown win, Reigns retained the title thanks to interference from a debuting Solo Sikoa. McIntyre will hope to become World Heavyweight Champion at Crown Jewel as he challenges Seth Rollins, who has stated how excited he is to run that match back.
