WWE hosted a House Show yesterday evening in Cincinnati, Ohio, with significant news emerging from the event.

During the show, Roman Reigns defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Rey Mysterio. Fans were also treated to GUNTHER successfully defending his Intercontinental Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura and Matt Riddle in a Triple Threat and Alpha Academy defeating The Viking Raiders.

All of these matches were well-received but expected by the fans in attendance. However, one thing that wasn’t expected was the return of a former WWE Champion who hadn’t been seen in quite a while.

In the third match on the card, former WWE Champion and eight-time overall World Champion Bobby Lashley returned to the ring. He would successfully defeat Karrion Kross in front of the Cincinnati crowd in his first in-ring appearance for over a month.

Bobby Lashley was last seen on the 12th of May edition of Friday Night Smackdown. On the show, he wrestled two matches. First, a Triple Threat against Austin Theory and Sheamus, which Lashley would win. And secondly, a twelve-minute match against AJ Styles, which Lashley would lose.

At the time of writing, nothing has been announced about why Bobby Lashley missed a month of action. No injuries had been reported, so it’s perhaps likely that Lashley was just given some time off after a hectic schedule. Lashley had been a consistent feature on WWE television for the majority of the last year, rarely taking any kind of break from TV.

Having recently been drafted to the WWE SmackDown roster, it will be interesting to see Bobby Lashley’s next move.

The Cincinnati supershow also featured the below matches;

  • Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn def Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio
  • Austin Theory def Sheamus
  • Becky Lynch, Mia Yim, Zelina Vega and Shotzi def Bayley, IYO SKY, Chelsea Green and Zoey Stark
  • Seth Rollins def Damian Priest
