Darby Allin’s back is “really messed up.”
At AEW All In, Darby Allin teamed with long-time mentor and tag team partner Sting to take on Swerve Strickland and Christian Cage in a Coffin Match. Cage was a late addition to the match after AR Fox was removed from Mogul Embassy in the days before the show, reportedly as a punishment.
In typical Darby Allin fashion, the face-painted star threw caution to the wind, and his body at just about anything that moved. This included hitting a Coffin Drop onto a… coffin after Swerve narrowly avoided disaster.
Unsurprisingly, the bump left a lasting impression on Allin, with the star admitting in an interview with CBS Chicago that he’s feeling pretty banged up.
“I’m not 100%. We had a show in London, I really messed my spine up. I’m trying to take it easy before Sunday,” he said. “My lower back is really banged up. At the show in Wembley, I jumped off the top rope and landed on a metal coffin on my lower spine. Luchasaurus, he’s a huge dude.
I think a lot of it has to do with where I’m willing to go in that ring. A lot of people aren’t willing to go where I’m willing to go mentally. I can take a big butt kicking. When things are going, there are things I’m capable of that I believe nobody else is.”
What’s Darby Allin Doing At AEW All Out?
Despite his damaging encounter at Wembley, Allin will be back in action at All Out when he takes on Luchasaurus in a bid to win the TNT Championship. The star has previously held the title on two occasions.
Speaking ahead of All In, Darby Allin committed his long-term future to AEW, commenting that he’ll live and die in All Elite Wrestling.
