Ricky Starks has been suspended for 30 days by AEW.

On the August 5th edition of Collision, Starks challenged CM Punk for the ‘Real World Championship’ with the legendary Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat serving as a special guest referee.

Starks seemed to be heading for victory when he pinned Punk using the ropes for leverage, but Steamboat refused to count, instead kicking his feet away. While Starks argued with Steamboat, Punk came up from behind and rolled him up for the pin.

The loss led to an enraged Starks attacking Steamboat and whipping the veteran with his own belt before Punk was able to make the save.

The August 13th episode of Collision opened with Starks in the ring with Tony Schiavone, who informed the star that, because of his actions the previous week, he would be suspended from wrestling for 30 days.

Recently Tony Khan confirmed that Ricky Starks will face Wheeler Yuta at AEW WrestleDream.

While he may not be allowed to wrestle for the next month – which includes major shows in both All In and All Out – Starks has revealed that he won’t be missing any TV time as he has already acquired a manager’s license so can still make appearances on the shows.

He then made his intentions clear, telling CM Punk he’s going to bring him “a war.”

“CM Punk, I want you to know one thing, blood is on your hands, brother. You brought that man into this ring, and you were the reason that he got ten lashes. So, my question to you is, hey, you got the ‘W’ and I got the ‘L’, but guess what, I can live with mine, can you?”

“No, you aren’t Superman, you ain’s bulletproof, and you damn sure ain’t ‘Absolute’ Ricky Starks…I am saying with enough heart and passion that I am gonna set this whole damn company on fire and I’m gonna start next week. You want a war? Guess what, I’m gonna bring a war to your front door.”
