Danielson made a surprise return to television on the September 2nd episode of Collision, announcing that he would be wrestling Ricky Starks in a strap match at the pay-per-view one day later. Due to The American Dragon breaking his arm in June at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, fans were curious at whether Danielson really was at 100% going into the contest.

Speaking at the All Out press conference, Danielson credited Starks for his performance in the match, stating that he did the heavy lifting in Chicago:

“Every time Ricky Starks gets an opportunity, he knocks it out of the park,” he said. “I will be the first one to say –- and this is outside of within our stories and what we do –- he carried me through that match tonight. I’m good at a decent amount of things and I’m confident in saying that he was the one who carried me through that match.”

Bryan Danielson continued by describing the methods of training used in The Blackpool Combat Club. Danielson hopes that after the brutal match fans will have more respect for the winner of the 2023 Owen Hart Cup:

“In the Blackpool Combat Club, we like to test people, we like to push people, part of that is story and part of that is real. I have never wrestled Ricky Starks before … we have never touched, we have never done anything. I’ve always watched and thought every time I see him, that guy is a star. I’m hoping fans see him in a way now that he is entertaining, but he is also gutsy.”

Ricky Starks may be following up his recent feud with Danielson against another BCC member in Wheeler Yuta.

Bryan Danielson Returns To The Ring

The Blackpool combat Club member would win his return match against Starks via submission in a physical bout that saw both men covered in blood when all was said and done. Danielson made it clear that he was not going to hold anything back while being interviewed on the pre-show, referencing a previous strap match he had in WWE.

In a new interview, Bryan Danielson was heavily praised by Ricky Starks for helping Starks rediscover himself following their brutal strap match.
