Bryan Danielson Gives Touching Tribute To Bray Wyatt Ahead Of AEW All Out

Bryan Danielson Bray Wyatt

Bryan Danielson referenced his rivalry with Bray Wyatt on the All Out pre-show.

At the AEW pay-per-view, Danielson would make his return to action in a strap match against Ricky Starks. The American Dragon was asked for his thoughts on the upcoming match during the zero-hour portion of the event. Danielson discussed the last time he took part in the barbaric match, which was against “The Fiend” at the 2020 Royal Rumble:

“The last time I was in a strap match, it was with someone I love, and we beat the sh*t out of each other! I don’t love you.. I don’t even like you!”

While Danielson would lose his match to Wyatt three years ago, he would defeat Starks at All Out by using the LeBell Lock with the strap to force Starks to pass out.

Bryan Danielson & Bray Wyatt’s Historic WWE Rivalry

Prior to standing across from each other on opposite sides of the ring, Danielson and Wyatt were briefly allies in WWE. In late 2013, Bryan joined The Wyatt Family, stating that The Cult Leader was always right. The alliance would only last for 2 weeks, with Bryan turning his back on Wyatt’s group inside a steel cage on Raw.

The first rivalry would come to an end at the 2014 Royal Rumble, where Wyatt defeated Bryan. One year later the two former World Champions would also meet face to face as Wyatt was the one who eliminated Bryan from the Royal Rumble match.

Wyatt and Bryan would cross paths once again in 2019. Bryan was in the ring addressing the fans when “The Fiend turned up and dragged Bryan under the ring, taking chunks of his hair in the process. Following Wyatt defeating The Miz as his Firefly Funhouse persona at TLC it was teased that “The Fiend” would be making an appearance. Instead, a hooded figure attacked Wyatt, revealing themselves to be Daniel Bryan.

Looking to take down “The Fiend ” and become Universal Champion in the process, Bryan faced Wyatt in a strap match at the 2020 Royal Rumble. Unfortunately for Bryan, the result would be the same as 6 years prior as Wyatt would be victorious.
