Ricky Starks Admits He Is “Sick Of Groups” In AEW

Ricky Starks makes his entrance at AEW WrestleDream 2023

Ricky Starks isn’t a fan of how many factions there are in AEW and intends to remain a solo act!

Starks has been flying solo ever since Team Taz disbanded in August 2022 and seems keen to keep things that way, even if it meant turning down an offer from one of the promotion’s most notorious factions!

Ahead of tonight’s AEW Collision, Starks was interviewed on the Battleground Podcast. During their conversation, the former FTW Champion claimed he would turn down an invitation from the Blackpool Combat club due to their fashion sense and wanting to remain solo.

“I don’t know. I’m sick of groups, I really am. I’m tired of groups, I’m tired of factions. Everybody has a faction, everybody has a group. So annoying.

I would say ‘thanks but no thanks, I don’t want to join the BCC.’ I don’t want to have to walk around wearing those jackets. I could (give the black jacket a makeover), but there is only so much you can do with a black jacket. It’s just hard.

Everyone is bleeding, there is a lot of blood. The exchange of bodily fluids, it’s just a lot. It’s a lot. I’m too handsome to be hardcore, but I’m too hardcore to be handsome sometimes.”

Ricky Starks Recently Called Out Adam Copeland

In the same interview, Starks also called out AEW’s latest signee: WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland!

Starks hit out at the man formerly known as Edge for using the Spear as his finisher, claiming he is the only top star allowed to use the move in the company. However, the 33-year-old also went on to discuss how Copeland’s AEW signing is ultimately a good thing for the company as a whole.
