Becky Lynch Wanted Mick Foley As Her Manager

Becky Lynch and Mick Foley

Although Mick Foley has been retired from in-ring competition since 2012, he recently expressed his openness to take on managerial roles, sharing that a partnership with Becky Lynch was once on the table.

On an episode of his “Foley is Pod” podcast, Mick Foley was asked if he ever wanted to give back to the business by managing somebody in All Elite Wrestling.

There weren’t any names that sprung to mind for “The Hardcore Legend,” but he did recount a tale where current NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was interested in Foley’s managerial services.

“I can’t think of anybody offhand. Because honestly, I don’t think I have much to offer in a managerial role.”

“Do you know who’s always wanted me to do an angle, like from a managerial perspective? Becky Lynch. She’s pointed that out a few times.”

“I said, ‘Becky, if you can talk to the powers that be, I would,’ but she’s doing really well on her own.”

“So I can’t I can’t think offhand of somebody who could benefit from me standing around ringside as a middle-aged man. So I’m open to ideas though.”

Foley hasn’t appeared for AEW since its inception in 2019, but the influx of prominent signings in recent years suggests that he could certainly find a comfortable spot on the roster.

Becky Lynch Reflects on Original NXT Debut

Though Becky Lynch is riding high without a manager these days, she perhaps could have benefited from a manager when she debuted for NXT in 2013.

Lynch has recently reflected on her debut for the black-and-gold brand, comparing it to the infamous Shockmaster debut at WCW Clash of the Champions XXIV.
