Bryan Danielson Names His Favourite AEW Matches

Bryan Danielson has made an impact during his time in AEW.

Making a shock debut at All Out 2021, the man known as Daniel Bryan was left behind in WWE and The American Dragon that fans knew and loved from Ring of Honor was back. Now able to swear, bleed and wrestle with no restrictions, Danielson’s matches had an added intensity and heightened drama. From his debut match against Kenny Omega at Grand Slam, Danielson has repeatedly put on match-of-the-year contenders in his short time in All Elite Wrestling. While fans will each have their favourite Bryan Danielson AEW match, which match did Danielson enjoy the most?

Speaking with DAZN, Danielson was unable to name a singular match that stood out as his favourite, but did have 4 that meant a lot to him:

“I really love the match I had with Moxley the night the Blackpool Combat Club was kind of formed where Regal comes out as it’s a special moment for me. I love the first one with Kenny Omega. I’m gonna name four. I actually love the Okada match. When you do something that is really hard, it has a special place in your heart. That was the Okada match. I broke my arm and wrestled for another ten minutes. That’s very rewarding.

“The other one, and this is someone who I think is fantastic, the strap match that I had with Ricky Starks. I love that match and I think Ricky Starks is fantastic. I love wrestling him.”

In what might be a surprise to some, the 60-minute Ironman match against MJF that required overtime was not included on the list.

Bryan Danielson Addresses Retirement

Danielson has been very open that he is fast approaching the end of his in-ring career as a full-time wrestler and is looking to tick off as many names from the dream match list before all is said and done. However, in terms of never having a match again, Bryan Danielson struggles to believe that this is a possibility.
