Surprising Name Backstage At WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

WWE Survivor Series 2023: Major Changes Expected

A surprising former WWE star is said to be backstage at Survivor Series tonight.

Speculation has been rife about the possibility of CM Punk returning at the Premium Live Event, which is being hosted in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, ever since his termination from AEW in September due to his backstage altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In.

While it appears he isn’t at the event as has been long-rumoured, with WWE reported being open to CM Punk’s return in the future if there was a significant fan response, another surprising name who has not been with WWE for some time reportedly is.

Fightful Select reports that former WWE Chairwoman and co-CEO Stephanie McMahon is backstage at Survivor Series. However, she is said to not be at the event in a working capacity and is instead simply “hanging out” and visiting those backstage.

Stephanie McMahon Left WWE Entirely This Past January

Stephanie McMahon has stepped away from the public spotlight almost entirely following her departure from WWE almost a year ago.

When Vince McMahon unexpectedly retired in July last year, Stephanie became co-CEO of the company alongside Nick Khan as well as McMahon’s direct replacement as Chairwoman. However, her appointment lasted a mere six months.

Vince returned to the Board of Directors this past January in order to facilitate the company’s sale and in doing so, also returned to his position as its chairman. Subsequently, Stephanie announced her resignation and has had little involvement in the company since.
