R-Truth Makes Surprise Return From Injury At WWE Survivor Series

R-Truth is back in WWE, making a surprise appearance at Survivor Series after over a year away from the company!

The 54-time WWE 24/7 Champion has been absent from WWE programming over the past year in order to recover from injury. R-Truth suffered a torn quad tendon last year during a match with Grayson Waller on the November 1st edition of NXT.

In the days following, it was reported that Truth’s injury was” serious” and could keep him out of action for a significant period. But now, 390 days after his last on-screen appearance, the 51-year-old is finally back!

During a backstage segment promoting the Premium Live Event’s sponsor Ruffles, Truth made an appearance alongside Alpha Academy, Pretty Deadly, Chelsea Green, and Piper Niven. Alpha Academy and Pretty Deadly were arguing over whether the Ruffles were chips or crisps before they were interrupted by the returning Truth.

Truth declared that both sides were wrong and that they were neither chips nor crisps but, in fact, Ruffles. He then encouraged Akira Tozawa to do the ‘Ruffle Shuffle’ to get everyone on the same page as the segment faded to black.

R-Truth Isn’t The Only WWE Star Returning At Survivor Series

While R-Truth’s return was more of a surprise, Randy Orton‘s first WWE appearance in over a year and a half is easily the most highly-anticipated moment of the Premium Live Event.

At the time of writing, however, it looks uncertain that Orton will appear. The Viper did not accompany Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Seth Rollins, leading the Chicago crowd to chant for CM Punk amidst speculation that the two-time AEW World Champion could return at the event.
