Karrion Kross Claims Match With WWE Legend Is “Not Impossible”

Karrion Kross and Scarlett Return

Karrion Kross has suggested that a match with one of WWE’s biggest names is still a possibility.

Kross initially signed with WWE in 2020 and was immediately established as one of the most dominant stars in NXT, winning the NXT Title twice. However, after a misjudged move to the main roster, Kross was released in November 2021.

After spells with MLW, NJPW, and on the independent scene Kross along with his wife Scarlett returned to WWE on August 5th, 2022, although again their run has been stop-start.

However, that doesn’t mean Kross hasn’t got his eye on bigger things. Speaking in a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Kross discussed a potential match with John Cena, commenting that it’s not impossible.

“I can’t say it’s not. I can’t say it’s not impossible. So during the lockdowns, fans were fantasy booking tonnes of stuff. They started fantasy booking me versus John Cena. That blew my mind. I was still in NXT. I was expecting maybe ideas and concepts like that would come at a later time one day when I’m on main roster, they were already saying they wanted to see that.

Then I think one day John posted a picture of me on his Instagram with no caption, no context, and people went crazy over it. You know, unfortunately, some things happened from that point to where we are now where I was no longer with the company. And now I’m back and he’s here as well. Just thought I’d put it out there and see if people still felt about it.”

Unfortunately, the potential for the match is diminishing, as Karrion Kross has not been seen on WWE TV for some time, and a recent return for the star was axed.

Karrion Kross Almost Worked With Bray Wyatt At WrestleMania 39

During the interview, Karrion Kross also revealed that he was scheduled to work with Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 39. The former NXT Champion said the plans were kept secret, but there were long discussions about how things would work out.

“So we fast forward. I haven’t talked to like anybody but my wife about this. So fast forward we were supposed to work last WrestleMania nobody knew that except for a collection of writers and some people in the office. [Was this WrestleMania 39?] Yeah. We were slated to do something.

And we would talk for hours about how we wanted to get into it, what we wanted to deliver creatively for people where we thought we both needed to be.”

The interview also saw Karrion Kross discussed his difficulties during the COVID pandemic.
