The First Woman To Declare For 2024 WWE Royal Rumble Is Official

As the end of the year fast approaches, the first WWE PLE of 2024, the Royal Rumble is not far behind.

The much-loved event takes place on Saturday, January 27th at Tropicana Fields in St Petersburg, Florida and officially kicks off the company’s Road to WrestleMania.

So far Superstars like Cody Rhodes and CM Punk have thrown their names into the men’s Rumble match in the hope of headlining WrestleMania 40. Now, one prominent member of the women’s roster has followed suit.

During the December 16th episode of Friday Night SmackDown the leader of Damage CTRL became the first woman to confirm her place in the women’s Royal Rumble match.

Bayley confirmed as a participant in the 2024 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble

In an excellent backstage vignette, Bayley spoke about her reasons for creating Damage CTRL. The former multi-time Women’s Champion told how she recruited the likes of IYO SKY and Dakota Kia to become the most dominant women’s faction in company history and with the addition of Asuka and Kairi Sane, they are stronger than ever.

The Role Model then announced that she would be entering the 2024 30-woman-over-the-top-battle-royal match. She went on to state that her entire crew would soon be dripping in gold when the reformed Kabuki Warriors take the Women’s Tag Team Championships while she wins the Rumble match and goes on to beat Rhea Ripley to become the Women’s World Champion.

This edition of SmackDown also saw the return of AJ Styles who made an immediate impact by taking out Roman Riegns with a Phenomenal Forearm before blindsiding LA Knight thus turning heel in the process.

Also on the show, Carmelo Hayes defeated Grayson Waller and Kevin Owens beat Austin Theory to progress to the next round in the United States Championship tournament.
