AEW Star Looks Back On Physical Encounter: “A Lot Of The Stuff We Did Was Not Planned”

AEW Team Taz Powerhouse Hobbs Brian Cage Ricky Starks

Powerhouse Hobbs opened up about his AEW All Out match with Miro that left fans wanting meat.

All Out saw Hobbs go one on one with The Redeemer in a battle that delighted fans in Chicago as well as around the world. The two big men held nothing back with their physicality, leading to the crowd chanting “We want meat!” throughout the United Center.

Speaking on a recent episode of Chillin’ With ICE, Hobbs looked back at the match and said he and Miro created something special simply by hitting each other really hard.

“It’s our job to tell a good story, to make everyone believe it, to put people on their toes. For instance, I went up against Miro, who is a well-known name, at our pay-per-view in Chicago, and it was a Meatfest. What I mean by that is, it’s another big guy, 270 pounds, and we’re hitting each other hard. You have thousands of people chanting ‘we want meat,’ and it was good.

“It was just two guys hitting each other. We actually realized we could tell a good story by just beating the hell out of each other and the fans feeding off it.”

“It Was Just Going Off The Fly” – Powerhouse Hobbs On AEW All Out Match

Continuing, Powerhouse Hobbs explained that the audience participation helped feed the match as the two men changed their plans according to the crowd’s direction.

“It’s also just listening to what the audience wants and you have to change things on the fly. A lot of stuff we did, was not planned, it was just going off the fly and feeding off the people.”

After the iconic bout, Miro’s wife CJ Perry made her official AEW debut.
