Top AEW Star Reveals They Requested To Only Appear On Collision

AEW Collision

Ever since the announcement of AEW Collision, there has been speculation that it would usher in a “brand split” of the roster with certain wrestlers only appearing on certain shows.

While there has been no official roster partition it certainly seems to be the case when it comes to CM Punk, FTR, and Ricky Starks who have been feuding with Bullet Club Gold exclusively on Saturday nights. The same can be said for several other talents such as Samoa Joe, Andrade El Idolo, and Miro.

All three names have only wrestled on Collision in recent weeks with Andrade especially making a welcome return to the ring after a lengthy absence due to injury. On the first-ever edition of Collision Andrade wrestled Buddy Matthews in a standout match, which he won but seemed to set up a rivalry with his opponent’s group, the House of Black.

The dark faction is focused on taking out the Mexican star in a feud that fans will only be able to see on Saturday nights as the leader of the House of Black revealed they will only be appearing on AEW Collision.

Malakai Black Requested To Be Strictly On AEW Collision

Black was a guest on the recent edition of the Undisputed podcast with Bobby Fish. During, the interview he disclosed how he asked to be solely an AEW Collision talent.

“I requested to be strictly on Collision. I don’t want people to get the pick. Saturday night, I get to see House of Black. If I give you the option for Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, you’re going to go, ‘it doesn’t really matter. I’ll tune in whenever. They’ll be here.’ I don’t want to lose the polish,”

Black is yet to wrestle on the show but as Andrade has beaten two of his stablemates in recent weeks, it seems as though Black will be facing Andrade very soon, but strictly only on Collision.

So far the matches announced for the July 8th episode of Collision are:

  • CM Punk vs. Samoa Joe – Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Semi-Final Match
  • Athena vs. Willow Nightingale – Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Semi-Final Match
  • Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Ricky Starks – Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Semi-Final Match
  • FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Bullet Club Gold (Jay White & Juice Robinson) – AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Match
