With the dust finally settling on the shock return of Punk to WWE, fans await what is next for the former AEW star. Although everything seems friendly at the moment, reports have surfaced that some are sceptical about Punk being back in the company due to the alleged behaviour of the former World Champion in the past year. However, while some are sceptical, Uso is ecstatic.
Speaking on The Bump, the former Tag Team Champion was asked the same question that many in wrestling have been asked over the past few weeks; what his thoughts are on the Punk return? Uso responded that Punk is a conversation starter in the wrestling world and compared him to another big name in the industry, Roman Reigns:
Man, sign CM Punk. Like, why wouldn’t we sign CM Punk? I know he got a whole bunch of haters or whatever. Hey, if we going to be honest, he’s a superstar, first and foremost. People talk about him. And if it got anything to do with wrestling, his name is in it. He’s like on some Tribal Chief status. He’s [a] top guy regardless of whatever’s going on. So my invitation is open, man. Bring him, like, let’s go. Let’s run it, bro. I’ll be your first one to run with. It’s all good. It’s all love. Let’s go. Let’s run it. Welcome back though, CM Punk.
Not Everyone Is As Happy As Jey Uso
While the former Bloodline member is ready to mix it up with The Best in the World if given the opportunity, not everyone is as enthusiastic. A former WWE Champion recently stated that he hopes that CM Punk isn’t just given everything and that some people were very against the return.
