First Name Confirmed For WWE Royal Rumble 2024

The road to the WWE Royal Rumble has officially begun.

With Survivor Series now in the books fans will have to wait the best part of 2 months before the next Premium Live Event, which will take place on Saturday, January 27th in St. Petersburg, Florida.

During the November 27th broadcast of Raw, the first entrant for the men’s match was announced, which was none other than the man who won the match in 2023, Cody Rhodes.

The American Nightmare addressed the returns of Randy Orton and CM Punk before officially declaring himself to be a part of the Rumble next year. Shortly after the announcement, Rhodes was attacked by Shinsuke Nakamura, who delivered a red mist into the face of Rhodes.

Rhodes was the only Superstar to declare himself for the match on the show.

Will Rhodes Finish The Story With Second WWE Royal Rumble Victory?

Many fans expected Rhodes’ 2023 to look a lot different than how it actually panned out. Returning from injury as the number 30 entrant, The American Nightmare last eliminated number 1 entrant Gunther to secure his spot at WrestleMania. Making it clear that he came back to WWE to win the championship, Rhodes faced Roman Reigns in the main event of night 2 of WrestleMania 39.

Considering that Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn each lost their title matches to The Tribal Chief, many believed that this was Rhodes’ night and the record-setting reign would come to an end. Unfortunately, many were left heartbroken as Reigns walked out of WrestleMania as the champion for the third year in a row.
