Drew McIntyre has named the one wrestler he would love to face more than anyone else.

The former WWE Champion has faced off against some of the biggest stars of wrestling today, with highlights being a WrestleMania main event match against Brock Lesnar, main eventing the first major UK show in 30 years against Roman Reigns, and critically acclaimed Triple Threat match against Gunther and Sheamus at Mania the following year.

But if The Scottish Warrior had the choice of any opponent for a dream match, who would it be?

Speaking with the Under The Ring Podcast, McIntyre named his dream opponent as the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be:

“I’ll probably go with Bret Hart. He’s been my favorite growing up. He’s had that believable style, we’d do some cool stuff in there.”

McIntyre was then asked what it was that made Bret Hart so popular in Europe. McIntyre further described the appeal of Hart across the pond, stating that his in-ring style resonated with the local crowds:

“I’m not quite sure. He’d come out with a leather jacket and sunglasses and looked like a rockstar I guess,” he said. “But, also that style, if you’ve ever seen UK/European wrestling, it was a very mat-based style and it was still in existence at the time when Bret was taking off. For me, I didn’t really realize or didn’t appreciate Bret as much as I do now until I started wrestling. I was like ‘Oh I like watching Bret Hart.'”

Is Drew McIntyre Winding Down His WWE Career?

McIntyre has missed episodes of Raw due to filming commitments, as The Scottish Warrior will be starring in the upcoming action movie “The Killer’s Game.” When asked about the possibility of a reduced schedule in the future, McIntyre responded by saying that it is possible.
