Netflix’s Hulk Hogan Biopic Starring Chris Hemsworth Canned Following “Business Glitch”

Chris Hemsworth and Hulk Hogan

The Hulk Hogan biopic on Netflix starring Chris Hemsworth is currently iced, according to the Hulkster himself, brother.

Before the global pandemic hit, it was reported that Netflix was in the works to create a film on the early wrestling career of Hulk Hogan, and the title role of Terry Bollea was going to be played by Chris Hemsworth, greatly known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, in a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Hogan revealed that the film is canned.

“So it was a situation where business-wise, Netflix kind of like missed the date, you know, as far as a business situation. And so I had the choice at that time to switch gears. Scott Silver wrote the script, you know, he wrote The Joker and a bunch of different movies. And of course, Todd Phillips has done the Joker, Wolf of Wall Street and you know, whatever. All the crazy stuff that he did. But yeah, the script came back. It was amazing. I mean, because my favorite movies are like Scarface, The Godfather, True Romance, it was there, it was there.”

Chris Hemsworth No Longer Hulk Hogan?

Even Chris Hemsworth expressed his excitement for portraying Hulk Hogan and another legendary name involved with the project was Eric Bischoff. However, Hogan said that Hollywood happened and now the film is on ice.

“All of a sudden there was a business glitch, you know, and then they tried to fix it a few days later. And I’d already decided to move on. So, my life rights and stuff are somewhere else now. And there are a lot of things that are getting ready to happen. And hopefully, Todd Phillips and Chris Hemsworth will still want to play. But there’s still a huge opportunity there.”

Hogan claimed there used to be a huge opportunity back at WrestleMania 25 where he was supposed to battle John Cena in a retirement match, but he claims back troubles put an end to that possibility.

In a new interview, Hulk Hogan has named who his dream opponents would be on the current WWE roster.
