Booker T Supports Adam Copeland’s Move To AEW

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage on AEW Dynamite

Booker T can’t begrudge Adam Copeland his move to AEW.

At WrestleDream, Adam Copeland made his AEW debut after his WWE deal expired. The WWE Hall of Famer has since explained that he felt it was time to move on and test himself elsewhere, adding that he and WWE had grown apart in recent years.

Another key reason behind the switch was a desire to link back up with childhood friend Christian Cage.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, fellow WWE Hall of Famer Booker T said that he can’t be mad at Copeland for making the move.

“Personally, I’m not mad at him because I understand how this business is… You want to finish it the way you do, and being able to finish it with Christian [Cage]… I was reading somewhere that it was his dream to be able to finish his career with Christian, the way he started it. I get it, man.”

Booker added that while money is nice and Copeland will undoubtedly be well paid, there’s more to life than that.

“At the end of the day, it isn’t the money — the money is great, it’s all great. But you can’t take it with you. The stories, camaraderies, friendships, the memories… man that stuff is priceless.”

The former World Champion closed by reiterating that he’ll be the last one to hate on Copeland and Cage for wanting to work together before they retire.

“Everything over there at AEW doing, everything that Edge is doing with Christian, I’m going to be the last one to hate.”
