Ex-WWE Star Heaps Praise On Dominik Mysterio: “He’s Far Beyond Where He Should Be”

Ex-WWE Star Heaps Praise On Dominik Mysterio:

A former WWE Superstar who is very familiar with Dominik Mysterio has been the latest to praise The Judgment Day member for his work in 2023.

Throughout the Ruthless Aggression Era, Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio would frequently be best friends and bitter enemies on SmackDown. The rivalry would reach a new level in 2005 when Guerrero claimed to be the biological father of Dominik Mysterio, culminating in the infamous ladder match at SummerSlam with the custody of Mysterio on the line.

Eddie Guerrero’s nephew Chavo was also a part of WWE during this time period and would also feud with Mysterio after Eddie tragically passed away in November 2005, ultimately causing Mysterio to lose the World Heavyweight Championship at the 2006 Great American Bash.

Having known the former North American Champion since he was young, Guerrero was asked about his thoughts on Mysterio while speaking with Chris Van Vliet. Guerrero stated that Mysterio is surpassing all expectations and noted that he is one of few people who should be allowed to perform Guerrero’s signature spots in matches:

“Dominik Mysterio is killing it. He’s doing so good. He’s far beyond where he should be as far as being good as well. It’s pretty cool to see them doing all this stuff. And we talked about that before. You get a lot of people, especially because of Eddie, and how monumental and cult following he has and how many people see how great he is and was. You get a lot of people really trying to capitalise off of the Guerrero name and Eddie’s name. You’ll see it all the time.

I just saw it on our house show the other day I was on and they started doing Eddie spots. And I’m like, why are you doing that when I’m next after you guys? [They respond] Oh, yeah, we didn’t think about that. I’m like, Guys, I get it. But you just did it. And everybody thought about Eddie, they didn’t think about you. And they’re like, Yeah, you’re right. But I see that a lot and anybody can do it. [But] Dominik can do it and Rey can do it because of the history with them and stuff.”

Chavo Guerrero also discussed the making of The Iron Claw and detailed how he trained the actors to be wrestlers for the Von Erich biopic.

Dominik Mysterio Compared To The All-Time Greats

Many have continued to praise Mysterio throughout 2023, improving vastly on his previous work on the main roster. Many have put that down to The Judgment Day member being the latest child of a wrestling legend to follow in the family’s footsteps. Recognising his achievements and his heritage, one WWE Hall of Famer has compared Dominik Mysterio to The Rock.
