Logan Paul is on his way back to WWE SmackDown, and Rey Mysterio revealed when the big return will take place.
Rey Mysterio was a guest on the latest edition of The MMA Hour, and he opened up to Ariel Helwani about the potential of facing YouTube sensation Logan Paul.
Mysterio confirmed that he was home watching the fight between Danis and Paul, saying that he wanted to see the fight. After discussing the bout, the conversation turned to Logan Paul calling out Mysterio after the match, issuing a challenge for the United States Championship.
“Correct me if I’m wrong, he says, ‘I have my eye on someone and something.’ He said, ‘That US Title, Rey Mysterio.’ So I was like ‘what?!’ I was like ‘What did he just say? No way!’ And I had to rewind to make sure. Yeah he did, he called me out, ok. I’m not hard to find, you can find me every Friday night on SmackDown, so I can’t wait to see what he has to say.”
Later in the conversation, Helwani asked Mysterio if a match between himself and Paul was a done deal, and Mysterio had this to say, confirming that Paul will return to SmackDown on October 20th:
“I’m gonna see what he has to say on Friday. We’re gonna have to tune in this Friday on SmackDown because he called me out, and I responded, but now we’re gonna face each other, and I gotta hear what he has to say.”
While not yet confirmed, it is expected that Mysterio and Paul will face off in singles action for the United States Championship at Crown Jewel on November 4th.
Fightful Select shed more light on the situation, noting that Paul had it in mind to call out Mysterio ahead of his fight with Danis, and that he was already listed internally for the upcoming episode of SmackDown prior to the declaration.

Paul made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 38, teaming with The Miz to take on Dominik and Rey Mysterio.
After an impressive in-ring performance, the YouTube star helped his partner secure the victory for their team. However, as they were celebrating their victory, The Miz shockingly turned on Paul and hit a Skull Crushing Finale on his tag team partner.
In the same interview, Mysterio commented on how smooth the WWE atmosphere currently is following Triple H being named head of creative.
