At NXT Deadline Dragon Lee captured his first title in his WWE career.
The luchador defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the NXT North American Championship ending the ex-con’s second run as champion. Lee was a last-minute addition to the title bout after Mysterio’s original opponent, Wes Lee had to withdraw due to injury.
Since his arrival in NXT Lee has been involved in the North American title scene but failed to hold the gold. His quest for the championship seemed to be over when he joined the SmackDown roster earlier this year but he returned to NXT with Rey Mysterio in his corner to capture the title that had eluded him until now.
His victory was well received across social media with many congratulating him on the big win including one of AEW’s top stars.

AEW star RUSH took to social media to congratulate his real-life brother with a heartfelt message. El Toro Blanco shared words of pride for his younger brother writing:

RUSH wasn’t the only member of his family to congratulate Lee on his victory. His older brother and professional wrestler, who also wrestles for All Elite Wrestling, Dralistico posted a message of pride.

Upon receiving the warm messages Lee replied to both his brothers thanking them for their inspiration, support and love.
All three brothers were part of La Faccion Ingobernable teaming regularly in the Mexican promotion Lucha Libre AAA World Wide, where they captured the AAA World Tag Team Champions.
