Bayley holding up Smackdown Women's Championship

Bayley: 2022 Biography, News, Net Worth

Pamela Rose Martinez better known as Bayley was born in San Jose, California on July 12th, 1989. She is a professional wrestler currently signed to WWE.

A lifelong wrestling fan Bayley started her ring journey in 2008 for West Coast promotion Big Time Wrestling as Davina Rose. She soon began performing all across North America for NWA before establishing herself in SHIMMER Women Athletes.

WWE came calling in 2012 and signed the young star to NXT. Upon arriving in the developmental band she became an awkward star-struck fan-girl known as Bayley and immediately mixed it up Charlotte, Sasha Banks and AJ Lee.

As the months and years progressed Bayley became one of the most popular stars in NXT and alongside Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch she helped redefine women’s wrestling in WWE. At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in August 2015, Bayley defeated Sasha Banks to finally become NXT Women’s Champion, in a bout widely regarded as one of the best female WWE matches of all-time.

After a successful run as NXT Women’s Champion Bayley debuted on the main roster in 2016 and won the Raw Women’s Championship shortly after. Her friendship/rivalry with Sasha Banks has led to numerous memorable moments throughout her run on the main roster, including becoming the first-ever Women’s Tag Team Champions. The Boss and Hug Connection won the gold at Elimination Chamber in 2019, emerging victorious from the unforgiving structure of the same name.

The pair held the championships until being defeated by The IIconics at Wrestlemania 35. Shortly after WrestleMania the star was drafted to SmackDown as part of the Superstar Shake-up. While on the blue brand Bayley won the Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match and later cashed in her contract on Charlotte Flair to claim the SmackDown Women’s Title. This victory made her the first-ever female WWE Grand Slam Champion. In the months after her victory she turned heel for the first time in her career eventually turning on her friend and tag team partner Banks.

The feud between the pair culminated in a Hell In A Cell match at the eponymous event which saw The Boss claim the win, ending Bayley’s record-breaking title reign at 380 days.

In the first half of 2021, Bayley entered a rivalry with Bianca Belair who had defeated Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Title at Wrestlemania 37. However, ahead of a match at Money In The Bank in July, the star suffered a serious knee injury, and wouldn’t return to WWE television until SummerSlam 2022. However, the star didn’t arrive alone, instead brining with her Dakota Kai and IYO SKY. The trio have since become known as Damage CTRL.
