WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023 goes down on Saturday, November 25th, 2023, at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

It is the second time the WarGames concept has been used under the Survivor Series umbrella after it was first introduced main roster in 2022. Unfortunately, there are no traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series matches but the show will feature the long-awaited return of the 14-time World Champion Randy Orton.

While WWE has confirmed one rumoured return, another heavily speculated comeback continues to be the talk of the wrestling town. As the PLE takes place in Chicago, many fans have speculated that CM Punk could make his sensational return to WWE on Nov 25. Shinsuke Nakamura has been on television calling out a mystery opponent and even hit the GTS on Ricochet, while there have been several (possible) references made to Punk on Raw.

While the Punk comeback is up in the air, one thing definitely taking place is IYO SKY making history. The event also sees SKY become the only WWE Superstar to compete in every single Women’s WarGames match.

The full card is as follows:

• Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and Randy Orton vs. Judgement Day and Drew McIntyre – Men’s WarGames Match
• Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Zoey Stark – Women’s World Championship
• Gunther (c) vs. The Miz – Intercontinental Championship
• Dragon Lee vs. Santos Escobar
• Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair & Shotzi vs. Damage CTRL – Women’s WarGames Match

So without further adieu let’s take a look at the matches, how they came about, and who we think will win.

Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair & Shotzi vs. Bayley, IYO SKY, Kairi Sane & Asuka – Women’s WarGames Match

The newly reinforced Damage CTRL faction faces the team of Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, and Shotzi inside WarGames.

The surprising return of Kairi Sane and the addition of Asuka saw Damage CTRL grow in both numbers and strength. The cocky quartette challenged the trio of Belair, Flair, and Shotzi to a WarGames match if they could find a fourth member. Desperate for reinforcements, the trio attempted to recruit Michin and Zelina Vega, but both were eliminated by Damage CTRL. With time running out, Belair and Shotzi urged Flair to make the big call and convinced her to call on her former friend Becky Lynch.

Prediction: The new souped up version of Damage CTRL may be the most impressive female faction ever assembled in WWE. Although the babyface team boasts Lynch, Flair and Belair, Shotzi stands out as the one to take the pin. Damage CTRL win.

Dragon Lee vs. Santos Escobar

This match was initially set to be Carlito vs Santos Escobar, but after Escobar viciously injured his opponent, Dragon Lee stepped up to take on the man who shook the LWO to its core.

Following Mysterio’s loss to Logan Paul at Crown Jewel, Carlito accused Escobar of purposely costing him the match. Severely offended by Carlito’s comments Escobar later refused to help him out during a beatdown at the hands of the Street Profits. Mysterio questioned Escobar’s actions only to find himself at the end of an emotional betrayal.

Following the sensational attack on Rey Mysterio, Carlito challenged Escobar to a match at the PLE, but before that could happen, Escobar took him out during a verbal conflict that turned physical. The injury nearly cancelled the match, but Dragon Lee pleaded with Nick Aldis to take Carlito’s place.

Prediction: For those who have followed Santos Escobar’s career know that he is best when working as a heel. Following the attack on Mysterio and Carlito, he has fully embraced his bad guy side and needs to keep momentum to grow into the role. But his new opponent also needs to make a big impact on his PLE debut. So with that being said in order to protect both guys expect to see a no contest or disqualification and possibly the introduction of Escobar’s new crew.

Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Zoey Stark – Women’s World Championship

At Survivor Series the Eradicator Rhea Ripley makes her 7th defence of the Women’s World Championship against Zoey Stark.

This will be Stark’s second crack at the title in a month. At Crown Jewel, Stark was part of a fatal five-way match for the title which Ripley retained. However, Stark remained in title contention when she won a number one contender battle royal on the Nov 6th episode of Raw to face Ripley in singles action.

Prediction: Despite Stark’s strong showing at Crown Jewel and during the battle royal there is simply no way she is dethroning Ripley here. Rhea Ripley retains.

Gunther (c) vs. The Miz – Intercontinental Championship

The longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWE history Gunther, puts the title on the line against the former 8-time champion, The Miz.

The match came about after Gunther refused to respect the Miz’s past accomplishments calling him an “entertainer” rather than a serious wrestler. An embarrassed Miz then turned face and challenged the Ring General to a match for the title. The following week Miz defeated Ivar, Ricochet and Bronson Reed in a Fatal 4-Way match to become the official number one contender.

Prediction: In what has been an unexpectedly enjoyable feud the outcome is similar to the previous prediction, there is simply no chance the Miz beats Gunther. Gunther retains.

Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn vs. Judgement Day and Drew McIntyre – Men’s WarGames Match

The Judgement Day and their new partner Drew McIntyre will fight their many enemies consisting of the returning Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso inside the unforgiving WarGames structure.

Throughout the year the Judgement Day crew have proven themselves to be one of the most dominant factions in WWE history. Their presence has seen them capture gold across all three brands while making serious adversaries at every turn. Each member of the faction poses a unique threat and the addition of McIntyre has only bolstered their intimidating force. However, upon McIntyre siding with the quartette, Rhodes made sure his team also had backup in the form of the Viper.

Prediction: At first glance, the two teams appear to be on equal footing but as we have seen throughout his initiation, McDonaugh is Judgement Day’s resident fall guy. Rollins, Rhodes, Orton, Uso and Zayn win.
