Seth Rollins Takes Shot At Roman Reigns

Seth Rollins Roman Reigns

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have a history that goes all the way back to 2012, and their relationship has been quite the rollercoaster.

After the pair arrived on the main roster with Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) as The Shield, Rollins blew the group apart in June 2014. Since then the pair have occasionally found themselves on the same page, but their more recent interactions have been far more spiky.

Rollins challenged Reigns for the Universal Championship at the 2022 Royal Rumble and won via disqualification, but this meant that he didn’t win the gold.

Fast forward to May 2023 and Rollins is in possession of the newly-created World Heavyweight Championship. A title that WWE has admitted was born due to Reigns’ dominance and part-time schedule.

Appearing on The Bump, Rollins said that Monday Night Raw needed a World Title as “our Universal Champion” wants to keep his part-time schedule.

“This title doesn’t exist if our industry and our company isn’t so healthy across the board,” Rollins said. “There was a need for a title on Monday nights. There was a need because everybody is so good.”

“We needed a prize to fight for since our Universal Champion wants to keep his part-time schedule. We gotta have a title. I was more than thrilled to have it and to usher in this era of change.”

Seth Rollins Apologises To AEW Star

While on The Bump, Seth Rollins also extended an apology to Buddy Matthews if he had offended him with his antics on Raw.

During the main event where he teamed with AJ Styles to take on Damian Priest and Finn Balor, he found himself outside the ring and put his arm around Rhea Ripley who initially didn’t realise who it was, before being in for a shock when she noticed it was The Visionary.

Long-time fans were quick to notice that the spot was a nod to Shawn Michaels who did something similar on two occasions, first with Sunny in 1996 and then with Melina in 2006.
