Kurt Angle Heaps Praise On TNA’s “Best Kept Secret” Christopher Daniels

Kurt Angle stands in the ring during WWE SmackDown 2004

Kurt Angle is considered an all-time great in the squared circle and amateur wrestling circle so it’s high-praise when your Olympic Hero tips the cap to you. Angle did just that with Christopher Daniels.

Speaking on a recent episode of “The Kurt Angle Show,” Kurt recounted his 2012 in TNA and working with such stunning talents as Daniels, AJ Styles and Frankie Kazarian. Angle briefly tagged with Styles that year and faced Daniels and Kazarian during that time. Angle couldn’t help but note of the understated greatness of “The Fallen Angel.”

“He was the best-kept secret in the company. That kid could do anything. He, I’m not gonna lie to you about this, he was just about every bit as good as AJ was. He was a heavyweight wrestler, he was an X-Division wrestler, he could talk on the microphone just as good as anybody else.”

Kurt Angle Believes That Christopher Daniels’ Potential Wasn’t Fully Tapped

Angle wasn’t finished with his admiration for Daniels. Much like Styles has done with his near eight-year run with WWE, Kurt is convinced Christopher was capable of the same achievement.

“He had all the skills to be a main event wrestler for the WWE. He really did. And I’m not sure why it never occurred for him, but, you know, Chris was always underutilized no matter where he went.”

Although Daniels never did make waves under Vince McMahon‘s name, he continues to help cultivate an identity with AEW both on the screen and behind it. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion currently serves as the company’s Head Of Talent Relations.
