Matt Riddle Could Be AEW's Next Jon Moxley - Dave Meltzer

Dave Meltzer has speculated that Matt Riddle, who was recently released from WWE, could be AEW’s next Jon Moxley.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer wrote that recently released WWE Superstar Matt Riddle could be AEW’s next Jon Moxley. Meltzer made the comparison between Riddle and Moxley, noting that they both left WWE after being considered mid-carders and for their tendency to lose matches.

We’ve heard people say AEW doesn’t need new talent that can’t be top guys, basically with the idea since they weren’t top guys in WWE that AEW can’t use them. But it should be noted Riddle’s role in his last few months with the company and Jon Moxley’s role, where he always lost, in his last few months were identical,

Since joining AEW, Moxley has become one of the company’s top performers, with his matches often receiving high praise from both critics and fans. Meltzer believes that Riddle has the potential to follow in Moxley’s footsteps and become a major player in AEW.

Riddle was released from WWE earlier this month, reportedly due to concerns about his behaviour backstage. Despite this, Riddle has built a loyal following among wrestling fans for his unique in-ring style and laid-back personality.

Meltzer’s comments have led to speculation among wrestling fans about Riddle’s future in the industry. Some have suggested that AEW could be the perfect platform for Riddle to showcase his talents and become a top star.

Will Matt Riddle Join AEW?

Matt Riddle has a WWE standard 90-day no-compete clause in his contract following his departure so he will not be making an appearance on AEW programming in the near future. However, there is the possibility that once this term is up he could make his way to AEW.
