It was the AEW Dynamite featuring three more Continental Classic matches, plus an MJF promo, Adam Copeland confronting Christian Cage, and more.
This episode took place at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The announcers were Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz. Bryan Danielson was on commentary for the Continental Classic matches.
Match #1:Jon Moxley defeated Jay Lethal in a Continental Classic Tournament Gold League match. Moxley won by submission with a Rear Naked Choke leading to Lethal tapping out.
It was announced that AEW Revolution will take place on March 3, 2024 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC. That is where Sting’s last match will take place. Sting & Ric Flair were interviewed by Tony Schiavone talking about how they will be there.
Match #2: Rush defeated Mark Briscoe in a Continental Classic Tournament Gold League match. Rush hit the Bull’s Horns for the pinfall win.
MJF did a promo about defending the AEW World Title against Samoa Joe at Worlds End. MJF talked about all the great wrestlers he has beaten including Joe and said that Joe was the toughest guy to beat. MJF said he would find a way to beat Joe again despite all his injuries. MJF said that at Worlds End, Joe will have to put him down. The lights went out and when they came back on, a bunch of guys in masks grabbed MJF for an attack. Samoa Joe showed up to make the save since he said he would protect MJF before Worlds End. The guys in masks ran away.
It was time for a message from The Devil. There was a text promo message on the screen asking MJF and Samoa Joe if they would face the unknown in a tag team match. MJF was sick of The Devil, so he agreed to it while Joe looked a bit hesitant.
Match #3: Wardlow beat AR Fox with three Powerbombs. The referee checked on Fox and called the match.
Match #4: Top Flight – Darius Martin & Dante Martin and Action Andretti defeated Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy & Brother Zay by pinfall. Dante got the pinfall win.
Match #5: Julia Hart defeated Emi Sakura by pinfall to retain the TBS Championship. Hart won with a moonsault off the top rope.
Mariah May was interviewed backstage by RJ City where May said she was dying to show AEW what she was all about. May went into Tony Khan’s office to talk to the boss.
Christian Cage did a lengthy promo talking about his friendship with Adam Copeland. Christian sucked up a lot and tried to get Adam to call off their match for Christian’s TNT Title next week. Christian spoke about how his family was like Adam’s family because of how close they were. After Christian said that Adam’s late mom wanted the guys to team together again, Christian tried a cheap shot, but Adam was ready with a low blow. Adam: “Nice try, dumbass.” Adam told Christian to shine up the title and even sleep with it because she (the title) was coming home with him. Adam also said “Go f**k yourself” as payback for Cage saying it to Copeland in the past.
Match #6:Swerve Strickland defeated Jay White in a Continental Classic Tournament Gold League match. White went for Bladerunner, Swerve countered with an arm drag and covered for the pinfall win.
