The Usos – “It Wouldn’t Be The Bloodline Without Paul Heyman”

While The Usos had enjoyed success as tag team stars, their respective careers reached a whole new level when they teamed up with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman to form The Bloodline.

The faction went on to add Solo Sikoa and become the most dominant force in WWE, helping Roman Reigns to one of the longest World Title runs in the history of the company. Yet behind it all, both on-screen and backstage, Paul Heyman is the man pulling the strings.

Heyman has been an instrumental force in WWE for a number of years, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest creative minds the wrestling industry has ever seen, especially in the modern era.

Speaking in a new interview with Ariel Helwani for BT Sport, The Usos have now lifted the lid on the impact Heyman has had on them and The Bloodline as a whole. Jey revealed that the former Tag Team Champions often turn to the veteran for advice on promos, while Jimmy credits him as being the best promo in the business today.

Simply put, the pair agree that without Heyman and his real-life ties to their family, the storyline wouldn’t work as well as it does.

Jey: “No, every promo we’re like ‘Paul, Paul what do you think if I go [imitates promo] duh, duh, duh, duh?’ ‘Nah go like this ‘duh, duh, duh.’ Oh thanks Uce. We’re always running it past him. He is a mad scientist. He’s a cook. He cooks it all up, everybody eats.”

Jimmy: “He adds his own layer to The Bloodline. It wouldn’t be The Bloodline without Paul Heyman, especially with the history he has with our family already. Everything ties in, and everything works. He has his own style and his own way of cutting promos. To me, he’s the best promo guy in the game. To me. The best one.”

Jey: “I don’t think I’ve ever heard him rehearse a promo. We’ll dip off to the side and you’ll see everyone in their head running through it. But I’ve never seen him practice a promo, he can just go out there and hit it live.”

The Usos Set For Starring Role At WWE Money In The Bank

The Usos’ careers have gone from strength to strength over the last year with the rise of The Bloodline. After dominating the tag team division and weeks of tension, Jimmy finally broke away from the group at Night of Champions delivering a huge Superkick to Roman Reigns.

In the weeks that followed, Jey also bailed on The Bloodline to remain by his brother’s side. This has set up a massive tag team match between The Usos and Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa at Money In The Bank, dubbed ‘Bloodline Civil War.’
