John Cena Set To Wrestle At WWE Fastlane

John Cena on WWE SmackDown

John Cena will be back in the ring at Fastlane.

The September 22nd episode of SmackDown opened with Cena taking center stage and announcing that he wants to wrestle. Since returning to the blue brand, Cena has clashed with The Bloodline but has found a friend in AJ Styles.

After saying that he was ready for action, Cena was joined in the ring by Styles and the pair called out The Bloodline.

This began a show-long storyline with Adam Pearce looking to set up a tag team match. However, when he approached Paul Heyman, the Special Counsel only agreed if the match didn’t happen that night.

This in turn set up a contract signing in the main event.

Cena was out first and signed the contract immediately, but when Styles’ music hit he was shown being attacked by Jimmy Uso backstage. Although Cena rushed to the back, Solo Sikoa hit a huge splash on Styles, meaning he was taken away in an ambulance.

Once back from a commercial break, Sikoa, Jimmy, and Heyman went to the ring and gloated over their actions. Cena ran to the ring to try and get revenge, but instead, he was demolished by The Bloodline, who then signed the contract. The show went off the air with Cena’s partner still a mystery.

In recent news, it has been confirmed that John Cena will face Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa in a Handicap match at Fastlane. Having wrestled for over 21 years, John Cena is also aware that his time left as a wrestler is limited.

LA Knight Was Due To Feature Alongside John Cena

Ahead of the show it was reported that LA Knight was due to be factored into the main event. However, the star didn’t feature on the show at all, leaving the arena shortly before the taping began.

It’s since been reported that LA Knight tested positive for COVID-19 which caused his absence.
