October 10th Will Show “Why WWE Is WWE And Why AEW Has A Long Way To Go”

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H

The tension between WWE and AEW has continued to rise.

October 10th will be a big night for NXT as the show goes head-to-head with AEW Dynamite. While AEW has confirmed there will be a 30-minute buy-in ahead of the show, a 10-minute overrun at the end, as well as being stacked with title matches, WWE hasn’t taken the challenge lying down.

WWE has called on John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Asuka, and Paul Heyman to make appearances, while the first 30 minutes of the episode will be commercial-free.

There have also been hints at teases that The Undertaker could be involved. The Deadman is scheduled to be in Orlando, Florida this week, and his signature gong can be heard at the end of a WWE video package promoting the show.

Meanwhile, in a new report from Nick Hasman, a WWE source close to NXT is quoted as saying “Tonight will be a very clear example of how and why WWE is WWE, and why AEW has a long way to go.”

There’s said to be a belief within WWE that AEW had been “lulled into a false sense of reality that they were somehow an industry leader by continuing to beat WWE’s number three brand.”

The same source is quoted as saying Tony Khan “poked the wrong ones at the wrong time.”
