CM Punk has a huge supporter in Zelina Vega, both as a talent and as a person.
The LWO member spoke with Newsday in a new interview and provided clarity on her stance when it comes to the polarizing Punk. Punk was just fired from AEW last week stemming from not only a physical confrontation with Jack Perry but word was him having a heated confrontation with Tony Khan where he reportedly “lunged” at the AEW President.
Vega came to the defense of Punk, stating that there are more layers to the man than what a fan or colleague may read or see existing on the Internet.
“I don’t know much about his situation with AEW, but I have always had a fantastic relationship with CM Punk. You hear all these things about him. I am so big on not listening to other people’s experiences, the dirt sheets, all that crap.”

Also in the interview, Vega said that there are “so many reasons” why it would be wonderful for WWE to welcome CM Punk back to the company after being gone for nearly ten years. She adds not just for her, but for the fans too.
“He’s always been a fantastic person. There’s layers to people. And when people are just so hung up on the outer layers of what a person can be, you get stuck there. And if you want to stay there, that’s great. But when you get to know the core of a person, that’s where I like to hang out.
“To me, Punk’s been nothing but great.”
Punk has also seemingly been nothing but great to Vega’s husband, Malakai Black as the AEW star has found himself a prominent figure on AEW Collision every Saturday night.
