WWE SmackDown Results – November 17, 2023

This week’s SmackDown saw LA Knight face Jimmy Uso while the Women’s WarGames match was set for Survivor Series.

It was SmackDown at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana with Michael Cole & Kevin Patrick on commentary with WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg. Corey Graves was off again after having a baby with wife Carmella last week.

Damage CTRL’s WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY, Bayley, Asuka, Kairi Sane and Dakota Kai did a promo. Bayley bragged about how strong the group is. Asuka spoke in Japanese with Sane & Sky, which made Bayley nervous. Kai said everybody in the ring wasn’t Damage CTRL. Bayley was concerned that they would beat her up, but Kai said they never officially introduced Asuka being in the group. Bayley gave Asuka a Damage CTRL shirt so Asuka’s in the group. Kai said that the four of them (not Kai since she’s injured) challenge their rivals to a WarGames match at Survivor Series. Shotzi tried an attack from behind while Charlotte Flair & Bianca Belair also joined in the attack, but the Damage CTRL women cleared the ring.

Backstage after a break, the trio of Belair, Flair & Shotzi were talking with Belair saying she knows Flair knows somebody who can help. Nick Aldis, the Smackdown GM, told the three women they needed to find a fourth partner for WarGames by the end of the night. Aldis went into his office where Cody Rhodes was. They didn’t mention Cody was in there, but it was obvious it was him.

Match #1: The Street Profits defeated Pretty Deadly & The Brawling Brutes by pinfall in a triple threat match. Butch accidentally kicked Butch and The Steet Profits capitalized to hit their Revelation (spinebuster/neckbreaker combo) double team move on Ridge with Dawkins getting the pinfall win. Ridge was frustrated with Butch about the loss.

The victory means that Street Profits will challenge The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest & Finn Balor for the WWE Tag Team Titles next Friday on Smackdown.

Bianca Belair was backstage talking to Michin.

After the break, Damage CTRL was shown beating up Michin. The story was that Damage CTRL would take out anybody that at Belair was talking to about being a WarGames partner.

Match #2: Dragon Lee defeated Axiom by pinfall. Lee won clean with his reverse DDT finisher called Operation Dragon. Axiom, who is from NXT, was brought to Smackdown this week by GM Nick Aldis. The announcers said this was a Rey Mysterio tribute match since they were both masked wrestlers.

Santos Escobar did a promo explaining his attack on Rey Mysterio last week. Santos said “never meet your heroes” in regard to Rey and that Dominik Mysterio was right about his father. Escobar didn’t like that Rey. Escobar said they were supposed to be family, but instead, Rey sided with an outsider like Carlito instead of him. Escobar said he apologized for not doing more damage to Rey. Zelina Vega interrupted, she argued with Santos and slapped him. Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza went into the ring to say they were with Rey. Escobar attacked them from behind, so Carlito ran out to chase Escobar away.

Later in the show, it was announced that Carlito will face Santos Escobar at Survivor Series.

Match #3: Grayson Waller defeated Cameron Grimes by pinfall. Waller jumped over Grimes’ back with a jumping Unprettier for the pinfall win. Road Dogg called it a Dingo Driver.

Bianca Belair was backstage talking to Zelina Vega possibly about WarGames.

After a break, Damage CTRL was shown backstage standing over a fallen Zelina Vega, who was down on the floor hurt.

The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman & Jimmy Uso did an in-ring promo. Heyman repeatedly mocked John Cena due to Solo destroying him at Crown Jewel with repeated Samoan Spike shots to the throat. Heyman said that Cena has admiration for the fans, but he doesn’t have the heart to say goodbye to the Cenation or the WWE Universe. Heyman said that Cena can’t communicate like he used to and it’s all because of Solo. Heyman said that all Cena had to do was acknowledge the real GOAT, but he couldn’t even say goodbye because Solo spiked him in the throat.

LA Knight interrupted The Bloodline promo saying he was a problem solver who would solve the problem that is The Bloodline. Knight said that each of them would fall until it was him and Roman Reigns.

Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair & Shotzi were backstage with Belair telling Charlotte they had no other options, so Charlotte had to call somebody.

Match #4:LA Knight beat Jimmy Uso by pinfall. Knight won with the BFT for the pin.

After the match, Solo Sikoa & Jimmy Uso attacked Knight. They wanted to put Knight through the commentary table, but Cody Rhodes from Raw ran out for the save. Cody threw Solo into the ring post and Cody threw Jimmy into the steel steps. The Bloodline retreated while Cody & Knight stood tall in the ring.

Bianca Belair & Shotzi walked up to Charlotte Flair to get an update. Charlotte said she called somebody, but she’s not sure if “she” will make it in time.

Cody Rhodes was shown talking to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis backstage. Nick told Cody Rhodes he had to go, so Cody left.

The trio of Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair & Shotzi did an in-ring promo accepting the Damage CTRL WarGames match challenge for Survivor Series. Bayley and the rest of Damage CTRL interrupted the promo with Bayley mocking Flair for not having friends. The crowd went wild as Becky Lynch arrived in her ring gear and Lynch got into the ring to stand by the Flair/Belair/Shotzi team. The eight women got into a brawl to end the show. Flair & IYO SKY each hit moonsaults to knock down a pile of women by the ring. There was some more brawling as the show ended there.
