Drew McIntyre To Miss WWE Raw, Brock Lesnar Set To Return

Drew McIntyre makes his entrance on WWE Raw

Just weeks after returning to WWE, Drew McIntyre is set to miss the July 17th episode of Raw.

The Scottish star made his long-awaited return to WWE television at Money In The Bank, setting his sights on Gunther. This led to another confrontation on the following night of Raw, and then McIntyre teamed with Matt Riddle to take on Imperium on July 10th.

On the night Riddle and McIntyre scored the win and discussed their rivalry with Gunther, Giovanni Vinci, and Ludwig Kaiser in a backstage segment. During the conversation, McIntyre commented that he would be missing next week due to being off on “company business.”

It turns out that McIntyre was pretty much telling the truth. According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, McIntyre has been booked in an outside gig through the company and will be filming next week.

Although McIntyre won’t be present on July 17th, it’s been confirmed that Brock Lesnar will be. The Beast will make his own return to the red brand to answer the challenge laid down by Cody Rhodes.

Drew McIntyre Knocks Back Questions On His WWE Future

The Scottish star had been out of the ring since WrestleMania 39 due to a series of injuries needing time to heal. This absence also came against a backdrop of serious uncertainty, with reports emerging that his contract — which runs out in early 2024 — wasn’t close to being extended, while the star was said to be frustrated over money and creative.

During an appearance on The Bump, McIntyre avoided getting into the details about his future, only commenting that he’s there for the here and now.
