Triple H Makes First TV Appearance Since Suffering “Cardiac Event”

Triple H

WWE EVP Triple H has made a return to television for the first time since suffering from a “cardiac event” and undergoing heart surgery in 2021.

News first broke of Triple H’s medical condition when WWE issued a statement on September 8, 2021, revealing that The Game was recovering after a successful procedure following what they called a “cardiac event.” The full statement read:

“Paul Levesque, a.k.a. Triple H, underwent a successful procedure last week at Yale New Haven Hospital following a cardiac event. The episode was caused by a genetic heart issue and Paul is expected to make a full recovery.”

Since then Triple H has not been fulfilling his usual duties in WWE while his close friend Shawn Michaels has been overseeing the revamp of NXT into NXT 2.0 in the last few months.

Now The Game has made his first television appearance since his procedure, appearing on NBC News to discuss WWE’s ‘Next In Line’ program which has seen the company sign deals with several standout college athletes. Triple H says the move to allow college students to sign name, image, and likeness deals has opened an opportunity for WWE:

“To allow college students to sort of monetize and utilize their name, image, and likeness. It has opened up an avenue for us. This allows them to have that open door to earn money while in college.”

Olympic gold medallist Gable Steveson was the first athlete to sign a NIL deal with WWE and since then the company has snapped up 15 other college athletes, including two that could well be the next Bella Twins.
