AEW‘s Toni Storm has undergone a significant shift in her character on the October 4th episode of AEW Dynamite.
In a promo segment, Storm appeared to have a crisis of confidence before coming to a realisation that she is “Timeless.” Later in the show, “Timeless” Toni Storm made her way to the ring for her match with Skye Blue. The match was competitive, with Blue taking over on offence at one point, but Storm fought back and hit a Storm Zero for the win.
The shift in Storm’s character has been met with a positive response from fans and wrestling critics alike. Many have praised her for her promo abilities and in-ring work in recent weeks.
Tony Khan event took to X to praise the Australian wrestler and reiterated that she is in fact “Timeless.”
What’s Next For Toni Storm In AEW?
With this recent shift in her character and a dominant win over Skye Blue on Dynamite, it would stand to reason that Toni Storm will once again look to reclaim the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Storm is a former two-time Women’s World Champion and recently tried to reclaim the title for a third time when Storm took on champion Saraya at Dynamite Grand Slam for the championship gold. Unfortunately for Storm, she came up short.
Storm had started her character shift since her title loss to Hikaru Shida on August 2nd. She started to portray herself as a demanding and paranoid Golden Age of Hollywood starlet, drawing comparisons to actresses Gloria Swanson and Norma Shearer.
