AEW Star Compares Timeless Toni Storm To Iconic Attitude Era Pairing

Dustin Rhodes recently shared his thoughts on Toni Storm‘s new “Timeless” gimmick.

During an appearance on the Sports Guys Talking Wrestling podcast. Drawing parallels between Storm’s character and his iconic Goldust persona from the WWE‘s Attitude Era, Rhodes expressed admiration for Toni Storm’s portrayal and the creative direction of her gimmick.

In the interview, Rhodes conveyed his excitement about the similarities between Storm’s “Timeless” persona and his own portrayal of Goldust, particularly highlighting the addition of Luther as her butler, drawing a comparison to his on-screen partnership with Marlena. Rhodes commended Storm for her exceptional execution of the character, emphasising her ability to push boundaries and captivate audiences with her outlandish entrance and theatrical elements reminiscent of a “letterbox movie with the lighting and smoke.”

Furthermore, Rhodes lauded Storm’s commitment to embracing the uniqueness of her gimmick, noting that she is effectively capitalising on its distinctiveness. He expressed his delight in witnessing Storm’s creative growth and applauded her for revitalising a concept that had been dormant for some time, ultimately affirming her excellence in bringing the character to life.

I told her last week, ‘You remind me so much of myself.’ Now they’ve put Luther with her, as her butler, it’s so cool. It’s like myself and Marlena, the director and the Goldust character. She does it so well and I’m glad that lightning has struck and she’s riding it for all it’s worth.

The more outlandish things she does on her entrance and things like that in the letterbox movie with the lighting and smoke. It’s so cool. It’s new, it’s not being done, it hasn’t been done for a while and she’s doing excellent with it

Who Else Has Praised Toni Storm’s “Timeless” Character?
