Saraya To Defend AEW Women’s Title On Dynamite

Saraya entrance at AEW Grand Slam

Saraya will put the AEW Women’s Title on the line on October 10th.

On the September 29th episode of Rampage, Ruby Soho took on former Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida for the right to challenge the British star.

Near the end of the match, the referee got knocked down and Soho went to blind Shida with a spray can. However, Shida saw her coming and hit her with a kendo stick, and then the Katana. With the referee still out of action, Aubrey Edwards arrived to count the pin.

The match between Shida and Saraya will take place on October 10th on Dynamite: Title Tuesday.

“I Was The Sh*ts” – Saraya

At Full Gear 2022, Saraya returned to the ring for the first time since December 2017. The star had suffered a second serious neck injury and it was believed she would never wrestle again.

However, the Brit never gave up hope and after multiple meetings with multiple doctors, she was cleared for a return shortly after signing with AEW. Not that she was happy with how her in-ring return went.

Appearing on Truth or Dab, Saraya was asked if there were any moments in her career that she would like to repeat and she named a number of matches including her big comeback.

“Winning the divas championship, winning the NXT Championship, winning the AEW World Women’s Championship. All of it. If I could redo my first match back, I would because I was the sh*ts [laughs]. I wish I could have been better in my first match back after five years,”

After returning in late 2022, Saraya went on to win the Women’s Title at All In in front of a packed Wembley Stadium.
