WWE fans got introduced to Jade Cargill on SmackDown.

On September 26th, WWE announced that Cargill had put pen to paper on a new multi-year contract. The news came after the star let her AEW contract expire following her defeat to Kris Statlander on a recent episode of Rampage.

Statlander had handed Cargill her first-ever pinfall loss at Double or Nothing earlier in the year, taking the TBS Title in the process.

By signing with WWE, Cargill became only the second major name to make the move from AEW to the sports entertainment giant, following in the footsteps of Cody Rhodes. Although not on the same scale, Brian Pillman Jr. also recently signed with WWE, and a video teasing his debut was shown on NXT.

On the September 29th episode of SmackDown, WWE aired its first video package for Cargill with Michael Cole putting over how important her signing was. The clip includes news coverage of her signing.

What Has Jade Cargill Said About Her WWE Switch

Speaking in an interview following the completion of the deal, the star discussed her reasoning behind joining WWE, and her thoughts on AEW. Jade Cargill said she’d been in a preparation stage before signing with WWE, but the move was always her long-term goal.

The star also looked forward to a number of dream matches, including a hypothetical WrestleMania showdown with Bianca Belair.
