Seth Rollins Says The Shield May “Never Be That Close Again”

The Shield Seth Rollins Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose

Seth Rollins has opened up about the relationship held by the three members of The Shield, admitting that he, Roman Reigns, and Jon Moxley may never be as close as they once were when they ran roughshod over WWE.

Survivor Series 2012 is most notable for seeing the debut of the group known as The Shield, with the three men going on to dominate the main event scene in the company for most of the next decade. Jon Moxley – then known as Dean Ambrose – broke away from the group for good when he left WWE to join AEW in the spring of 2019.

Seth Rollins – “None of us as close as we were”

The trio of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Jon Moxley first broke up in June 2014 when Rollins turned his back on his brothers-in-arms to join the Triple H and Stephanie McMahon-led Authority.

Speaking to The Metro, Seth Rollins discussed the three men’s relationship now and admits that they aren’t as close as they once were but says a bond will always exist because of what they achieved:

“Obviously none of us are as close as we were, and we may never be as close as we were during those first two years. Everyone’s off doing their own thing, we’re all on separate shows. Roman and I see each other occasionally at the pay-per-views if he’s on those, and neither of us see Mox ever. He’s busy doing his own thing, whether it’s AEW or GCW or New Japan – wherever he wants to show up!”

“Obviously the bond isn’t as close but it will always exist in the same way that the Horsemen are always gonna be the Horsemen, the nWo are always gonna be the nWo, The Shield has that type of aura about it. There’s always gonna be a connection there, no matter what happens or which directions we go.”
