WWE Star Reveals Ruptured Breast Implant Kept Them Out Of Action

A current WWE Superstar has revealed that they missed several months of action in 2022 after undergoing surgery for a ruptured implant.

Zelina Vega began 2022 as one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Carmella after the duo captured that title on Raw in November 2021. However, once the team lost the championship to Sasha Banks and Naomi at WrestleMania 38, Vega soon disappeared from WWE television.

“It Never Happens On Some Really Cool Move” – Zelina Vega

Speaking on Anna Faris Is Unqualified, Zelina Vega confirmed she underwent surgery during her time away and explained how she suffered one of the more unusual injuries during a match:

“It never happens on some really cool move or some crazy flip I did outside the ring. It’s always the littlest thing that will happen, and that’s how you get injured. Knock on wood, I actually hadn’t had any serious injuries until that point. It wasn’t even really that bad.”

“This is silly, but one of my best friends and I were in a match, and she had given me this one called a Northern Lights Suplex, where basically she kind of flips me over her backwards, and her shoulder went into my chest, and I ruptured an implant.”

“But me, of course, looking on the bright side, I was like, well they are 10 years old anyway, and I kind of wanted them bigger anyway. So it ended up working out. Lately I’m like, ‘I should have gone a little bigger, I don’t know,’ [laughs] why not?’”

Zelina Vega had previously been associated with current AEW star Andrade El Idolo on WWE television before beginning to compete in the ring on her own right on a more regular basis.

Following her injury, the Queen’s Crown winner returned to WWE screens in October 2022 on SmackDown where she joined Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, and Cruz Del Toro in the Legado del Fantasma faction that had been called up from NXT. That group previously featured Elektra Lopez but she remained on the developmental brand following the faction’s call-up to the main roster.
