Former Women’s Champion Returns On WWE Raw

WWE SmackDown Women's Title

Royal Rumble season is traditionally full of surprises, and the January 30th episode of WWE Raw has continued that theme.

The red brand had already seen the return from injury of Rick Boogs and fans didn’t have to wait long for another comeback.

Carmella Returns On WWE Raw

Carmella hasn’t wrestled since getting injured at a WWE live event back in August. During the match, real-life Leah Van Dale appeared to get knocked out and immediately rolled out of the ring after falling to the canvas.

The referee quickly threw up an ‘X’ signal to indicate that the star had suffered an injury, and she was escorted backstage, shielding her eyes from the lights along the way.

While the star was initially kept out of the ring due to the suspected concussion, she heart-breakingly revealed in October that she had suffered a miscarriage.

Returning to WWE Raw, Carmella was featured in a backstage segment where she said she was excited to be back and ran down her catchphrases. The star was interrupted by Asuka, much to her disgust, but as she was about to blow off the former Raw Women’s Champion, she gave an evil smirk showing off her blue teeth before a blue liquid began to fall from her mouth.

It was also announced that Carmella will be back in the ring on the February 6th episode of the show when she takes on Piper Niven, Candice LeRae and Michin (Mia Yim). The winner will earn a spot inside the Elimination Chamber where then winner of that match with face Bianca Belair at WrestleMania.

Earlier in the show Rick Boogs made his own return having been out of action since WrestleMania 38 in April 2022. Boogs made his entrance at the behest of Adam Pearce who had heard enough of The Miz complaining.

As Boogs made his way to the ring Pearce announced a match between the pair despite Miz being decked out in a suit. Boogs made short work of his rival, demolishing Miz in under two minutes.
