Raquel Rodriguez wants to make sure Rhea Ripley doesn’t forget her.
On the August 21st episode of Raw, Raquel Rodriguez challenged Rhea Ripley to a match at Payback for the Women’s World Championship.
In recent weeks Ripley has been a thorn in the side of Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. The Women’s World Champion has attacked both women at will and helped cost the pair the Women’s Tag Team Titles after assaulting Rodriguez’s knee. A week later the star did a number of Morgan, and she hasn’t been seen since.
After Rodriguez revealed she was cleared to compete on Raw after attacking Ripley, she set about repeating the trick in NXT. At Heatwave, Rodriguez jumped Ripley as she teamed with Dominik Mysterio to take on Lyra Valkyria and Dragon Lee.
Rodriguez has a lengthy history with NXT and is a former NXT Women’s Champion, two-time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion, and Dusty Rhodes Classic winner.

Speaking in an NXT Digital Exclusive after shocking Rhea Ripley, Rodriguez explained why she’s so determined to make her presence felt.
“As of yesterday, I have been medically cleared for action, and I made my point pretty obvious to Rhea when I went out there and announced to her that it will be her versus me at Payback for the Women’s World Championship. So I came here tonight because I wanted to remind Rhea who she’s messing with. Not too long ago, we had our Last Woman Standing Match in this arena, and I put her through that stage floor. I plan on doing the same thing at Payback. She will be looking up at Raquel Rodriguez, your winner and your new Women’s World Champion,”
