WWE Refusing To Rule Out Move For CM Punk

WWE management is not ruling out the possibility of welcoming CM Punk back into the company.

According to Haus of Wrestling, sources within WWE have revealed that the company is not ruling out the possibility of welcoming CM Punk back into the fold. However, the level of interest in re-signing Punk is reportedly not as high as it was when the company was looking to re-sign Cody Rhodes after his departure from AEW in early 2022.

Despite the level of interest not being as high as some would have thought, sources within the company have made it clear that if good business can be done between WWE and Punk then they would be willing to work with him, especially with the recent TKO Group Holdings merger as the new publicly traded company will be looking for different avenues of business to appease stockholders.

Punk’s free agent status came after his AEW contract was terminated on September 2nd following an investigation into a physical altercation between Punk and Jack Perry backstage during AEW All In on August 27th.

When Did CM Punk Leave WWE?

CM Punk departed from WWE in 2014 due to a number of reasons, including creative differences and injuries. Punk’s departure was a highly publicised and controversial event, which may have influenced the level of interest in bringing him back. However, the wrestling landscape is constantly evolving, and the return of popular wrestlers to their former companies is not uncommon, so the possibility of Punk returning to WWE cannot be entirely ruled out.
