Liv Morgan Makes Surprise Return On WWE SmackDown

Liv Morgan makes her entrance

Despite fears that she could miss the entire summer with a shoulder injury, Liv Morgan is back on WWE SmackDown!

Morgan made her surprise return after Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler defeated Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre to unite the Women’s Tag Team Titles. Dawn and Fyre won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles back in April at Stand & Deliver when they overcame Fallon Henley and Kiana James.

However, the Scottish stars were called up to the main roster as part of the WWE Draft, meaning the NXT Titles were now on SmackDown.

This set up the unification match, and despite a very strong showing from the former NXT stars, it was Baszler and Rousey who got the win with simultaneous submissions.

As Rousey and Baszler picked up the win, Raquel Rodriguez was at ringside, and the former NXT Women’s Champions was called to the ring after the final bell. Rodriguez refused to back down from the champions and said that she was there to win back the titles that “we” never lost. When asked what “we” meant, Morgan’s music sounded to a loud ovation.

As Morgan made it to the ring, Rousey and Baszler made their exit.

Liv Morgan And Raquel Rodriguez Had To Give Up The Tag Team Titles

Liv Morgan had been absent from WWE since the May 12th episode of SmackDown when she teamed with Raquel Rodriguez to defend the Women’s Tag Team Titles against Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai.

During the match, Morgan suffered a shoulder injury and this meant that she and Rodriguez had to vacate their titles. Rodriguez went on to team with Shotzi in an effort to regain the gold, but the titles were won by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.
