Rob Van Dam Not Scheduled For AEW All In

Rob Van Dam with Jack Perry

Rob Van Dam’s stay in AEW reportedly won’t be a long one.

On the August 2nd episode of Dynamite, Rob Van Dam made his AEW debut. In recent weeks, Jack Perry has been at war with Hook and ECW despite the promotion closing its doors more than 20 years ago.

This has brought him into conflict with Jerry Lynn who works as a producer backstage. On Dynamite, Lynn said that while he knows he can’t get back in the ring himself due to a history of serious injuries, he knew someone who wrestled in ECW and is yet to retire. Rob Van Dam.

The WWE Hall of Famer confronted Perry and after laying down a challenge in an interview it was confirmed that Van Dam will meet Perry for the FTW Title on August 9th.

Rob Van Dam’s appearance came after it was rumoured that he could be set to appear at All In when AEW lands at Wembley Stadium. However, it seems that Van Dam’s deal is a ‘one and done’ type of arrangement.

Reporting after Dynamite, Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted that Van Dam is only scheduled for only “one bout against Perry.” This hints that the veteran won’t be sticking with AEW for a lengthy program given the match is happening on the next episode of Dynamite. Furthermore, WWE is advertising Van Dam for its WrestleMania 40 packages in Philadelphia.

When Did Rob Van Dam Last Wrestle?

Rob Van Dam hasn’t wrestled for a major US promotion since leaving IMPACT Wrestling in 2019, however, he’s stayed active on the independent scene and made a brief stop in Pro Wrestling NOAH in July 2022.

The star was most recently in action on April 29th at IWC Showdown IV.
